What should my receipt include?

1 Who it was from. Most receipts show this. Example "Walmart" or Amazon. An email from a seller should show their email address, etc...
2. Whom it is for, as in which child or children. For books and miscellaneous supplies this can be written on the receipt. For commonwealths or classes, this should be part of the invoice.
3. What is was for. (Even for internet companies, because they may provide phone and other services.)
4. Proof that they received the money. Sometimes you will need a signed receipt as with music lessons, unless the receipt they provide is clear enough.
5. Date or dates it is for, so we are not paying for  something outside of our school year. (Some people accidentally submit receipts that are too old.)

We should not make invoices for sellers, unless we get them signed by that seller, and have their contact information on it, such as telephone number or email address.

Q) If I take a tech class will it reduce my reimbursements?

A)  No. All students get to take a tech course for free.  However, if you need to buy a kit such as LEGO Robotics, the kit expense will come from your reimbursements.

A)  If you choose to take a second Tech Class for an Elective, the full cost of the class will come from your reimbursements,

Many classes, such as Foreign Language, or BYU distance courses, Aleks.com Math, IXL, and so forth, will have a fee associated with it that comes from your reimbursements.

Q) When will LEMI start sending out reimbursements?
A)  You will be reimbursed in 3 payments. A few weeks after the deadlines.

Q) Can I turn in a bill and have it be paid?

A)  No, Your receipts must be turned in and shown as "Paid" prior to reimbursement.  If LEMI is to purchase a class for you that has to be arranged before the purchase is made.

Q) If I do not turn in receipts by November 1st, do I lose that opportunity?
A) No, You may turn all receipts in any time until the deadline of April 30th.  For example, if you wait and do not turn in any receipts until you turn in $1250 in receipts on April 29th, and have $1200 amount to be reimbursed.  You will be reimbursed the $1200 amount some time in May.

Q) What if I have all my quota of receipts by the first pay-out date, can I have it all at once?
A)  You CAN turn in all your receipts at once.  LEMI will still need to follow the pay-out dates that are listed above.

Q) Do I need to be reporting in order to get our reimbursements?
A) Yes.  LEMI will need to verify that you are reporting at least 80% and passing your classes and have all learning logs turned in. Some may have to be resubmitted.
